An arm life (Brachioplasty) removes excess or sagging skin, tightens and smooths the underlying skin tissue and reduces the localized pockets of fat on the upper arm. Common causes of drooping or sagging arms are fluctuations in weight, aging, and is often heredity. Drooping or sagging arms is often a condition that cannot be corrected through exercise.

CONSIDERATIONS & RISKS
Each year thousands of individuals undergo successful arm lift surgery, experience no major problems and are happy with the results. Significant complications from an arm lift surgery are infrequent. However, make sure you understand what surgery involves, including possible risks, complications and follow-up care. Arm lift surgery poses various risks, including:
- Swelling
- Bruising
- Scarring
- Loss of sensation
- Bleeding (hematoma)
- Swelling of the hands
- Seromas (fluid-filled masses)
Like any major surgery, arm lift surgery poses a risk of bleeding, infection and an adverse reaction to anaesthesia. It’s also possible to have an allergic reaction to the surgical tape or other materials used during or after the procedure
You can help minimize certain risks by following the advice and instructions of Dr Schroder, both before and after your arm lift surgery. If you have any concerns about the risks involved with surgery, please discuss these with him.
RESULTS
The results of arm lift surgery can be long-lasting, provided that you maintain a stable weight and regular fitness. As your body ages, it is natural to lose some firmness in your arms, but most of your improvement from surgery should be relatively permanent and lasting.
